History & Feature of Flame Fire Museum
The National Historical Fire Foundation (often referred to as the Hall of Flame Museum of Firefighting) is a museum dedicated to preserving firefighting equipment worldwide. George F. Getz Jr., who created the original Hall of Flame in Wisconsin in 1961, became the museum’s owner after donating his collection. In 1974, the museum was relocated to Phoenix, which has since developed into the world’s largest historical firefighting museum.
The National Firefighting Museum is home to five main exhibit rooms, a video theater, and the International Hall of Firefighters. It also has a large collection of fire department arm patches, early fire insurance marks, fire helmets, art objects, and other types of graphics, as well as a children’s play area and a library with over 2,000 volumes. The National Firefighting Hall of Heroes honors American firefighters who have died in the line of duty or been decorated for acts of bravery. The equipment is divided into five galleries: Gallery One, Hand and Horse Drawn (1725–1908); Gallery Two, Motorized Apparatus (1897–1951); Gallery Three, Motorized Apparatus (1918–1968); and a tiny gallery dedicated to wildland firefighting.

The Hall of Fame Museum provides a variety of ways for the community to get involved with the museum, including group visits, special lectures, educational programs outreach initiatives, and hiring the facility for private gatherings and education programs like:
Storytime Tours: A guided tour of the museum for groups of 10 or more children, ages 3–8. These tours are led by a trained docent who will read fire-safety-themed books.
School Group Tours: Guided tours for school groups of all ages are led by trained docents and are available Monday through Friday. Students will learn about the history of firefighting, see antique fire engines up close, and participate in a hands-on activity.
Adult and Senior Group Tours: Guided tours for adult and senior groups are led by trained docents and are available Monday through Friday. These tours offer a more in-depth look at firefighting history and the science behind how fire engines work.
Event and Birthday Party Rentals: The museum can be rented for private events and birthday parties. Guests will have exclusive use of the facility and can choose to add on a fire truck ride, fire engine demonstration, or other fun activities.
